After finishing the evening sandhya vandana, we got to know that bhanu didi’s ( guruji's sister) birthday was being celebrated close by, and that there was food there… So we went there… I met bhanu didi and wished her… My fever had risen, my body was now aching terribly and I was finding difficulty in standing. So, I decided I would return to my room, miss bhanu didi’ birthday satsang and just rest… Just then, there was a queue formed and we saw guruji ( Sri Sri Ravi Shankar ) heading to his car… So I decided to see him off… As he went past me, he looked at me, gave a caring glance and gave me a pat on my left cheek. Within 30 seconds of the pat, I realized, my pain disappeared, my fever had gone, and I was feeling fit ! It was unbelievable !! So, I went for bhanu didi’s birthday satsang and had a great time there… Surprisingly immediately after the satsang the fever reappeared! That’s when I understood, guruji’s gesture… with a pat on my cheek he invited me to the satsang... At the same time he didn’t want me to become a softie and not be able to bear a simple fever. The fever eventually got over completely by next morning…

When there is complete surrender (sarvasva sharanagati) the devotee's focal point becomes the Guru and a union occurs where the Guru understands the devotee's pain because the Guru goes through the same. There is a simplicity about your words and you cant even begin to imagine the profound truth that you have conveyed through this post. The truth that you are able to experience your Guru's grace something which very few people can experience.

I can see that I have missed a lot of what has happened to you in the past coupla years!
...this happens quite often in the presence of higher energy pain disappears.. but reappears when connection from the energy field goes... so find a way to stay in touch..or become one..

If your guru has divine powers why does he charge so much money for the courses he offers? He could just arrange for the logistics using his divine powers.... Meditation is good but whats with the elite "guru"
If you have sincerely asked this question, only then read ahead... There are a few reasons...
The first being that in this materialistic world people give a lot of value to money... Practically it has been seen, that most people give value to the course only once they have paid...
Secondly... my guru doesn't want devotees coming for miracles... Miracles happen on the way... But that is not what he is here for...

Yes. Putting a price on your services is necessary to generate and maintain serious attention. However, such a practice would invariably be restrictive. Somehow "art of living" has only elite following. You wouldn't find large crowds in lesser known cities - that you would normally find in a Asaram or a baba Ramdev congregation. I respect your feelings but "Art of living" has become more of a status symbol. As for the miracle part, somebody, who finds solace in a guru or God, would always give credit to the guru or God when unexpected good things happen or expected bad things do not happen. If you retrospect, you will find that these things happen all the time. As for leaving my name, I just know you from IIT, not a great friend, but an admirer of your all round abilities. I dont think leaving my name is a good idea. Hope you let the comment stay in favor of free speech.

There is something else ... I am very materialistic, very much a part of this material world... i enjoy the dark and the evil components of this universe...
but i am sure about one thing, there's something called faith and there is something called spirituality...spirituality is nothing but introspection...going inside yourself...
a Guru is a human being just like you and I. But s/he is blessed with knowledge that has far more heights and depths than what you or I have. they are basically the chosen ones..SIMPLE MESSENGERS AND DOERS nothing else...
see we all have answers to questions ok... but yet we are restless and feverish and waiting for some nameless thing...WHY???
its because we dont have peace of mind...for peace we need to strike a balance between the physical and mental faculties, which happens through meditation. and if a guide (Guru) is thrown into the deal then it is a bonus...
As for giving credit to Guru or God... well it is a matter of individual opinion and is highly sensitive apart from requiring a comprehensive interaction to thrash it out... :-)))
